I recently enjoyed a lovely stay at the Cumberland. Upon arrival, I was immediately struck by the stunning views of the ocean from our apartment. The spacious layout accommodated my family perfectly, and we enjoyed good visits from the local cockatoos. We appreciated the clean and cozy environment, along with the convenience of nearby dining options. The heated pool was a hit with my kids, making our experience relaxing and enjoyable.
No oven in the kitchen 😕, and only one bathroom.

The location was great, in particular the living area, convenient to go everywhere. And it was also really close to the Great Ocean Road which stipulated a minimum two night stay at the weekend, main beach and shops, and the underground park.

I stayed in an apartment and loved that the bedrooms were away from the bathroom area because we were able to put our young children to bed and not worry about them waking from the noise of the spa!

Very clean accommodations with helpful reception staff.
I faced unexpected challenges . The late checkout fee of $60 took me by surprise, especially after not being informed about it at check-in or through any correspondence.

The location is excellent, close to beach, restaurants, shopping, walking tracks with excellent and clean facilities to suit young and old - whether it be for a quiet weekend or a family holiday - tennis, squash, swimming, bbqs providing everything for people on site.
The only issue I have is access to the rooms with luggage and food etc can be awkward if there is not a lift to the floor from the car park. Not always easy to access for elderly or disabled and quite inconvenient for everyone else. The lifts are very small, requiring several trips from the car to apartment - we were told to take the lift to Reception and then take luggage to our apartment block and then into another lift or up stairs.

We stayed for three nights in a lush 1 Bedroom Ocean Front apartment with a canny view over the beach. It was real clean, but the bathroom light was a bit dim for me. All in all, a decent spot for a getaway!

The view where we stayed was spectacular. The accommodation was reasonably spacious.
The layout of the room had the bedroom at the back which faced away from the sea and fronted onto the sometimes noisy corridor. Also the bedroom would have been enhanced if it had direct access to the bathroom in the form of an ensuite. More information about places to eat and things to see and do would have been appreciated. Some fine touches like some chocolates on arrival for guests celebrating special occasions would add to the refinement.

Everything, view,pool,location
This is not a complaint but a suggestion. I noticed the planter boxes outside with rosemary & weeds growing.A Good suggestion I feel would be geranimums or pelegoians. They are colourful, easy grown(break off and stick in ground), they would match the paint work, drought tolerate. Very cheery!!!!

Wonderful relaxing place, I enjoyed superfriendly personnel.
The room was well kept and clean and available with great view. The venue was in a very central location next to all restaurants and shopping in main street as well as beautiful Lorne right across the road from the main surf beach.
